The consultation has now finished and the Governors have formally agreed to go ahead with academy conversion and join the Chester Diocese Academy Trust.

Chester Diocesan Academy Trust

Vision 1(1)

CDAT - The Trust

We officially joined CDAT in May 2023 at the end of a consultation with the Governors, Parents and Staff. All of the paperwork for this can be viewed below. The children themselves will not have noticed the difference since we joined, but the staff certainly have in terms of opportunities and the level of support provided from the Trust. We know that this in turn will have a positive impact on the children and their education.

We took the decision to join CDAT because they are a trust that align directly with our own Christian values and Ethos.  In the publication of the recent School White Paper, the Government vision is for all schools to join multi academy trusts by 2030. In anticipation of this, the Governors spent some time looking more closely into whether an academy model would be in the best interests of the children, teachers and staff at St Oswald’s CofE Aided Primary School. The Governors were keen that St Oswald’s CofE Primary School had full control of when and how they moved forward with academy status, without pressure from Government departments.

If you would to learn more about the Trust please take the opportunity to explore their website.
